Hi there! We are Australian Spatial Analytics, an award-winning non-profit social enterprise creating data solutions for an inclusive workforce. We exist to employ neurodiverse individuals previously locked out of employment to provide B2B professional data services to Federal and State Government Departments and Medium & Large enterprises.

In 2021, we won the Diversity Employer of the Year - Women in Digital Award and, more recently, the 2022 Lord Mayor's Business Award for Most Outstanding Social Enterprise. 

Most of our team live with a disability, namely a. Our team is comprised of over 100 people across three offices; our headquarters in Brisbane, 2nd office in Melbourne and our recently opened 3rd in Cairns. This makes us one of Australia's largest work-integrated social enterprises (WISE), and we're only 2 years old!


 

The Opportunity:

 

In this role, you'll serve as a link between the strategic goals of our business, our operations and our people, to help in getting the company where it needs to be. You will work with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the General Manager (Operations), operations department leaders, and key stakeholders to unlock the potential of all our professional services delivery business areas. You will ensure that our HR policies& procedures, recruiting &onboarding, and learning & development all help Operations reach its strategic and long-term objectives. The role will be the first dedicated in-house HR position for the organisation, taking over from a previous shared services arrangement.

You will have an incredible impact on the way our organisation is both built and run. You will provide guidance on the following HR functions:

  • Employee and team relations
  • Training and career development
  • Employee handbook and policy development
  • Compliance management
  • Performance management
  • Recruiting and onboarding
  • Employee retention and turnover
  • Workplace culture
  • Payroll and tax administration
  • Benefit plan selection, enrolment, and administration

Ultimately, you will help the CPO align an organisation's 'people strategy' with the 'business strategy'.

You will fulfil four basic functions:

  • Operations Manager: measuring and monitoring existing HR policies and procedures
  • Emergency Responder: providing solutions to organisational emergencies
  • Strategic Partner: designing and implementing enterprise-wide strategies to resolve organisational challenges
  • Employee Mediator: creating sustained solutions to individual employee challenges

 

You'll be great in this role because:

 

You bring - 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • A strong working background in HR management and HR best practices
  • Project and people management skills (stakeholder management and developing good work relationships across the organisation)
  • The ability to manage change and transformation
  • Effective communication skills (rapport building, oral fact finding, influencing, negotiating, people advocacy, conflict management and crisis resolution)
  • Extensive experience in business and human resources management (knowledge of the business domain - business acumen, and HR domain - a good understanding of the many disciplines within HR, including diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management, employee and union relations, etc.).
  • Ability to identify and develop leaders
  • Proficiency with digital tools (Microsoft back-office applications, HRIS, business intelligence, decision support, data visualisation)
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving and analytic skills

Education & Qualifications - 

  • Required: Bachelor or Masters degree in a field related to Human Resources Management, organisational studies, or business management/administration
  • Optional: AIHR’s HR Business Partner 2.0 certificate, Professional in human resources (PHR), Senior professional in human resources (SPHR), Society for Human Resource Management certified professional (SHRM-CP), Society for Human Resource Management senior certified professional (SHRM-SCP), the Strategic HR Business Partner certification at HCI, or the HR Business Partner program provided by LinkedIn Learning.
